British ValuesBritish Values and the Social, Moral and Spiritual Curriculum
SMSC and British Values underpin our work. Themes are woven through the curriculum and learning displays. Learners are encouraged to reflect during the day. Moral and ethical discussions and decision making are central to our work in helping learners to manage their behaviour and make informed choices. We actively prepare learners for adult life by encouraging respectful behaviour and promoting healthy self-esteem. The government set out its definition of British values in the 2011 Prevent Strategy and considered them to be:
